Abuja, Nigeria — A Security and Public Affairs Analyst, Dr. Jonathan Onoja, has declared his full support for the leadership of the Chairman of the Military Pension Board, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Mikail Abdulraheem.

Onoja made this known during a recent interview with Symfony TV, where he also retracted his earlier remarks suggesting a leadership vacuum at the board, attributing them to misinformation.

“I was misinformed about the alleged leadership vacuum and my previous comments were based on that misunderstanding,” he said.

The analyst commended Abdulraheem’s leadership, noting that his recent visit to the Military Pension Board headquarters in Dutse Alhaji, Abuja, gave him firsthand insight into ongoing reforms and developmental projects.

According to him, the board is currently undertaking key initiatives, including the construction of new staff quarters and measures aimed at improving payment systems for military retirees.

Onoja further highlighted plans by the board to digitalise pension payments, a move he said would eliminate the need for retirees to undergo physical clearance processes.

“The Chairman’s vision is a testament to his dedication to the welfare of our veterans, and I believe he is a blessing to the Military Pension Board,” he added.

He urged Nigerians to support Abdulraheem’s leadership to enable the board to achieve its mandate of improving the welfare of retirees and serving personnel.

Onoja also dismissed negative narratives surrounding the board’s leadership, calling for unity and cooperation among stakeholders.

“I implore everyone to support Chairman Abdulraheem as he works tirelessly to improve the lives of our retirees and servicemen,” he said.
