Breaking: Chelsea appoint Calum McFarlane as interim coach until season’s end

Chelsea have appointed Calum McFarlane as interim head coach until the end of the season, with all parties reaching a full agreement.

McFarlane, who currently manages the club’s Under 21 side, previously took temporary charge of the senior team following Enzo Maresca’s departure in January and is now set to resume the role through to June.

The decision comes as the club moves to stabilise operations in the short term, while preparations are underway for a permanent managerial appointment.

Chelsea are expected to begin an internal process immediately to identify and recruit a new head coach ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
