BREAKING: Tinubu shuns Ambode, endorses Hamzat as Lagos APC consensus Candidate

President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the choice of Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.

The President backed the decision of the Lagos APC Governance Advisory Council (GAC), which was made public earlier in the week in Abuja.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had also publicly endorsed his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, describing him as the best man for the job.

The development, however, effectively sidelines former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who has been largely absent from the current consensus arrangement within the party ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
