Former Governor of Kano State and leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed optimism about the future following a visit by the party’s presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, after his screening by the NDC.

Obi visited Kwankwaso at his Abuja residence shortly after being cleared to contest in the party’s presidential primary election.

Confirming the visit in a statement shared on his official X account on Wednesday, Kwankwaso described Obi as his “brother” and praised the outcome of the screening exercise.

“Last night, I received a courtesy visit from my brother, His Excellency Peter Obi, shortly after his successful screening as the presidential aspirant of our party, the NDC,” he wrote.

“The future is bright and full of promise.”

The visit came a day after the NDC screening committee, chaired by former Ebonyi State governor, Sam Egwu, cleared Obi to participate in the party’s presidential primary in Abuja.
