ProTaxi to empower 1,000 Abuja families with brand-new EVs — CEO, Lawrence Oloche

ProTaxi, a Nigerian-owned ride-hailing platform, has announced plans to empower 1,000 families in Abuja with brand-new electric vehicles, EVs, as it prepares to commence operations.

The Chief Executive Officer of PromiseLand Innovations Limited, owners of ProTaxi, Amb. Lawrence Oloche, disclosed this in a video announcing the opening of applications for prospective drivers.

According to Oloche, the initiative is open to both men and women residing in Abuja who can drive and are seeking employment opportunities.

“ProTaxi will be empowering 1,000 families with a brand-new EV car on October 1, 2026.

Oloche said applicants do not have to be existing commercial drivers to express interest, stressing that the opportunity is targeted at Abuja residents who can drive and need jobs.

The announcement comes as ProTaxi opens its driver application and registration portal ahead of its rollout in Abuja.

According to information on the registration form, applicants will undergo screening, verification and onboarding before being admitted to the platform.

The company also clarified that submission of an application does not guarantee employment or approval as a ProTaxi driver, adding that shortlisted applicants may be contacted for further verification and an interview.

ProTaxi is expected to launch in Abuja before expanding its operations to other cities across Nigeria.
