ProTaxi opens driver registration ahead of October 1 launch

ProTaxi, a Nigerian-owned ride-hailing platform, has opened applications for prospective drivers ahead of its official launch on October 1, 2026.

The company announced the commencement of its driver registration and onboarding process, with operations expected to begin in Abuja before expanding to other cities across Nigeria.

According to the company, interested drivers are required to complete an application and registration form containing information that will be used for screening, verification and onboarding.

ProTaxi said the exercise is aimed at building a network of reliable and professional drivers as it prepares to commence operations.

“Thank you for your interest in driving with ProTaxi.

“We are building a reliable, professional and customer-focused transportation service, starting in Abuja and expanding to other cities across Nigeria.

“Please complete this form accurately. The information provided will be used for driver screening, verification and onboarding,” the company stated.

ProTaxi, however, clarified that completing the registration process does not automatically qualify an applicant to become a driver on the platform.

“Submission of this form does not guarantee employment or approval as a ProTaxi driver. Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for further verification and an interview,” it added.

The driver recruitment comes ahead of the October 1 rollout of the ride-hailing service by PromiseLand Innovations Limited.

The company had earlier said ProTaxi would provide flexible earning opportunities, allowing drivers to determine their working schedules and decide whether to operate full-time or during selected hours.

ProTaxi is positioning itself as a homegrown alternative in Nigeria’s e-hailing industry, with a focus on affordable transportation, safety, technology and the adoption of electric vehicles.

The platform will also offer features including driver verification, real-time trip tracking, multiple payment options, ratings and reviews, as well as live-location sharing.

ProTaxi is owned by businessman and entrepreneur, Amb. Lawrence Oloche, Chief Executive Officer of PromiseLand Innovations Limited.
