Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, has questioned whether former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is still in the race for the 2027 presidential election.

Olayinka made the remark in a post on X on Tuesday, where he mocked Atiku, the African Democratic Congress ADC presidential candidate, while also taking a swipe at the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC candidate, Peter Obi.

He described Atiku as “Wole Wole Kachalla” and questioned why Obi had not allegedly lied to Nigerians in the past two days.

“Abeg, is Kachalla Wole Wole Atiku Abubakar still contesting this January 16, 2027 presidential election? E reach make person ask.

“They closed the gate of the Kaaba for the leader, the child of brass caster. It is called grace.

“For two days, Peter Obi has not lied, what happened?” he wrote.

Olayinka’s comments come amid criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s recent spiritual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia by aides of Atiku.

Tinubu was granted access to the Holy Kaaba in Mecca, where he reportedly prayed and performed Umrah.

The development sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians, with some claiming that Tinubu was the first Nigerian president to enter the Kaaba.

However, Atiku’s spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, claimed that the former vice president had financially sponsored Tinubu’s first trip to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
