We’re not interested in Ronaldo – Bayern Munich
Reports claiming that Bayern Munich is interested in signing Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, are untrue, according to the Bundesliga champions.
The Bavarian giants are wary of Robert Lewandowski, their star striker, who has made it obvious he wants a new challenge outside Germany. But, Bayern has already stepped up their offensive threat by acquiring Sadio Mane from Liverpool. Yet, on Friday, rumours suggested they were contemplating a second Premier League raid to get Ronaldo.
Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern’s Sporting Director, denied the rumours, claiming Ronaldo had not been considered. In an interview in Germany on Friday, Salihamidzic said: “Cristiano Ronaldo is a top player who has had an outstanding career. However, the rumour that is circulating is a rumour that has no truth to it.”
Ronaldo has not indicated that he is unhappy at Old Trafford, despite reports that he is frustrated by the Red Devils’ inability to compete at the highest level. The Red Devils are also in a state of transition with Erik ten Hag as manager and looking to make an impression. Still, time is running out for Ronaldo to add another Champions League title to his collection at the age of 37; after United placed sixth in the 2021/2022 Premier League season.
