Akpabio is my younger brother, I can advise him – Ndume

The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume, has sought to minimize the reported rift between him and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, emphasizing his seniority and ability to offer advice to Akpabio when it comes to Senate matters. Senator Ndume expressed his sentiments during an appearance on the Arise TV program, Morning Show, on Friday.

In his own words, Senator Ndume stated, “I’m older than Akpabio and can advise him on issues of the Senate. I was the DG campaign of Akpabio, so by virtue of my position, I was his number one supporter and marketer to become the Senate President. We can disagree to agree, but not to fight. Myself and Akpabio are colleagues, and we have the same interest.”

This statement comes after an incident in October when Senators Akpabio and Ndume engaged in a heated exchange on the floor of the Senate, which culminated in Senator Ndume walking out of the Senate during a session.
