Another clueless ministerial ensemble (Opinion)

on

The president Buhari led All progressive Congress (APC) administration in the country has degenerated to a criminal enterprise by the large number of people with graft cases nominated as ministers.

Though most of them are yet to be convicted of criminal corruption charges that endangers the survival of our nation preferred against them anti graft agencies.

Most Nigerians view the ministerial nominees with disappointment and disillusionment and have lost hope about the promised change and the next level mantra of the Buhari administration. Indeed cynicism about the nominees are increasingly disturbingly because of the circus show of the ministerial screening by the senate that has been dubbed a’ take a bow and go ‘ exercise.

The APC is merely pursuing a hegemonic control ahead of the next general polls by the preponderance of their party panjandrums with anti graft cases on the ministerial list.It is believed the nominees will be the cauldron for the next election which will give them political mileage over the opposition because of the massive war chest they may acquire.

However,Nigerians are becoming more enlightened and are daily browsing about the perfidy of the APC central government. They will not accept to be held to ransom by their hegemony in the next dispensation as very salient questions may be asked.

Also the alarming truth is that the performance of the ruling party is abysmal in all spheres of our national life especially in area of national security which has virtually crumbled. We are yearning for a new narrative that must be rooted in progress and development and not this creeping fascism and cronyism.

During this second and last segment of the Buhari presidency, we expect him to act strongly against the undercurrents of why corruption and insecurity flourish in our political ecosystem. But his ministerial ensemble may lack the requisite talent and know how to bring our expectations to fruition.
