Arsenal vs Lens: Gunners players, coaches stranded five hours at airport
Arsenal players and coaching staff found themselves stranded at Luton Airport for an extensive five-hour period just ahead of their crucial Champions League group match against Lens on Tuesday night.
The Gunners had originally scheduled their travel to France for Monday afternoon, with manager Mikel Arteta set to address the media at 6pm UK time. However, an unforeseen storm in the vicinity of Luton Airport led to a significant delay in Arsenal’s chartered flight.
According to reports from the UK Mirror, Arsenal will not face any fines as the delay was beyond their control Their flight took off in the evening, causing Arteta to conduct his media duties over the phone.
Arsenal managed to secure a victory in their first Champions League match against PSV, triumphing 4-0 at the Emirates.
