Arsenal’s Tim Akinola lands in Nigeria Under 23 camp ahead of Tanzania’s clash
On-loan Arsenal midfielder has landed in Nigeria to join the Olympic squad ahead of the second leg of the Under 23 AFCON qualifiers against Tanzania.
Tim Akinola is expected to boost the midfield of the Olympics Eagles and help secure the much needed win to progress into the Under 23 AFCON.
Nigeria drew 1-1 against Tanzania away from home and will be ready for the return leg at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
Akinola was born in Nigeria but also eligible to play for England. He joined Arsenal in 2020 and featured prominently for the club at U23 level. He had a loan spell at Dundee United that was halted by injury.
The 21-year-old has made four appearances this season for Chesterfield FC.
