Benue: Catholic church holds prayer walk in honour of Yelwata attack victims
Catholic faithful across Benue State on Thursday embarked on a solemn prayer walk, seeking divine intervention for the restoration of lasting peace in the region.
The prayer walk was held in honour of victims of the persistent violence in the state, particularly the recent deadly attack on the Yelwata community in Guma Local Government Area, where many lives were tragically lost.
The peaceful procession, which is still ongoing, witnessed large turnouts from various parishes. Clergy, religious groups, and lay members marched through the streets holding placards, chanting hymns, and offering prayers for the dead.
Participants voiced deep concern over the worsening security situation and called for unity, healing, and a renewed commitment to justice and peace in Benue State.
