Benue state government has advanced arrangements to collaborate with a German Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, to provide medical services to the citizens.

It would be recalled that Governor Samuel Ortom had signed the Benue State Emergency Response Rescue Law which guarantees among other things that emergency cases were urgently attended to by competent and accredited bodies.

It is in the light of this that, the NGO ‘B- Steiger Foundation Nigeria’ today led a delegation to Governor Samuel Ortom at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi to present a letter for the collaboration.

Addressing the delegation, Governor Samuel Ortom said the state government looks forward that the Foundation would provide quality services to people of Benue, citing the running of air ambulances as one of such services.

Represented by the State Deputy Governor, Engineer Benson Abounu, Governor Ortom said the state government would accord the foundation all the necessary support to carry out its assignment.

He expressed optimism that with the calibre of Nigerians like retired General India Garba on the membership of the Foundation’s Board, the desired results would be achieved.

Earlier in a speech, the Interim secretary to the B- Steiger Foundation’s Board, Dr. Peter Asaga said they came to deliver a letter to the state Governor and commended his government for passing the emergency response rescue law.

Dr. Asaga stated that the Foundation had done everything legally possible to commence operation and acknowledged receipt of the donated office complex by the state government which would soon be furnished, adding that the foundation has membership that cuts across the three senatorial zones of the state and Germany.
