1. The National and State Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Makurdi, Benue State, has upheld the election of Senator Abba Moro of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the February 25 Benue South senatorial election.

The tribunal ruled that the evidence put forward by the petitioner, Dan Onjeh of the APC was “weak and porous” and dismissed it accordingly.

2. Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as expressed dissatisfaction with the judgment of the National Assembly Election Petition in Makurdi, which upheld the election of Senator Abba Moro of the PDP.

Reacting, Onjeh in a terse statement said the fight is not over. He said his legal team will study the judgment and advise him on the next step to take.

3. The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has congratulated Senator Abba Moro over his victory at the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, as winner of the 2023 election for Benue South Senatorial District.

Ortom said the judgment of the tribunal has reestablished the fact that Senator Moro’s victory at the 2023 polls was the unanimous decision of the people of Benue South Senatorial District.

4. The National/State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Makurdi, has upheld the victory of Rep. Asema Achado, of All Progressives Congress (APC), in the Feb. 25, Gwer East/Gwer West Federal Constituency election.

Delivering the judgment on Saturday, Chairman of the panel, Justice Amina Adamu, said the petitioners, Emmanuel Ukaa and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), failed to prove their case.

5. Unknown gunmen have killed three people including two members of Benue State Volunteer Guards.

The people were reportedly killed in Ugba, the headquarters of Logo Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.

6. The Governor of Benue State, Dr Hyacinth Alia, has called on the people of the state to work together in harmony and promote peace in their communities.

The governor made the call on Saturday while speaking at the Igede Agba New Yam Festival, where the former First Lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan, was also in attendance.
