BREAKING: Tinubu Sacks Wale Edun, appoints Taiwo Oyedele as Finance Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sacked the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, in a cabinet reshuffle announced on Tuesday.

The President also appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, according to an official memo from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The development is part of what the Presidency described as efforts to strengthen coordination and improve economic policy delivery under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Edun, who had served in the role since August 2023, has been directed to hand over to Oyedele, with all transition processes expected to be completed within days.
