Everton confirm Alex Iwobi injury

Alex Iwobi’s substitution during Everton FC’s match against Aston Villa has been confirmed by manager Sean Dyche to be due to an injury.

The Nigerian footballer, a prominent figure, was replaced by Neal Maupay merely five minutes into the second half of the Premier League clash against Villa, a game that saw Everton facing a 4-0 defeat on Sunday.

In response to the situation, Everton released a statement in which Dyche elucidated that Iwobi had sustained a hamstring injury and would undergo assessment in the upcoming days.

The official club statement read, “Dyche believes Alex Iwobi has suffered a hamstring injury and will be checked in the coming days.”

Iwobi, a 27-year-old attacking midfielder, holds a pivotal role within Dyche’s team, having taken part in all 38 league matches for Everton in the previous season. With 10 goals and 7 assists to his name from 63 appearances representing Nigeria, he proved his worth by scoring twice and assisting seven times for the Toffees during the last term.

As Everton prepares for their next league challenge against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 26, Iwobi’s condition remains under observation.
