The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Eyitayo Jegede, has defeated his opponent in the ongoing governorship election in his polling unit.

Eyitayo floored his main contenders Rotimi Akeredolu and Agboola Ajayi in his Gbogi/Isikan 1 ward in Akure South Local Government
