The camp representing Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asserted that Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory minister, will not escape expulsion from the primary opposition party.

Don Pedro Obaseki, who serves as Atiku’s Director of Research, Strategy, and Documentation, declared that Wike’s recent call for Atiku’s expulsion, his numerous verbal attacks on the PDP, and his repeated betrayals have led him to warrant removal.

Obaseki stated during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, “Wike is the root cause of the PDP’s problems, and expelling him is now a necessary step for the PDP.”

This statement was made in response to Wike’s recent appeal for the PDP to expel Atiku, as well as some prominent party members like Aminu Tambuwal and Sule Lamido.

Obaseki added, “The individual who should be expelled from the party is the one advocating for the expulsion of others.”

He went on to assert, “Wike is responsible for creating a faction within the party known as the G-5, in direct violation of the party’s constitution and structure. He campaigned against the party’s interests. If anyone has engaged in actions detrimental to the party, it is Nyesom Wike. He has clashed with virtually every notable figure within the party.”

Obaseki concluded by saying, “Wike has crossed a critical threshold, and he should prepare himself. We are prepared to confront him head-on. He has unleashed chaos, and we will not stand idly by while he disregards the party.”
