At the recent Idoma Young Professional Round Table 2.0, held on September 25, 2022, by the Ochetoha K’Idoma Youth Wing, Dr Peter Adejoh doled out N2,250,000 to nine members. The windfall―“seed fund” for SME start ups―was promptly disbursed within 48 hours, with each beneficiary receiving an equitable sum of N250,000. This rare philanthropic gesture by Dr Peter Adejoh (a.k.a. Mr Alert), CEO, Camey & Rock Holdings, speaks volumes about his benevolent nature and his thirst to see more young Idoma youth empowered.

This is coming on the heels of the good news that Dr Adejoh, Grand Patron and sponsor,  Uba Network, has acquired a parcel of land for the building of an ultra-modern 20-bed community hospital in Orokam, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Indeed, Benue State is blessed with notable men who are educated and enterprising, and Dr Peter Adejoh belongs to this illustrious rank.

A highly-driven entrepreneur with a background in information technology, banking, project and management consulting, he has over 18 years experience in commercial and investment banking, project management, insurance and finance.

Adejoh, 42, is the Chairman and CEO of Capitis Africa, a Pan-African investment company with focus on financial services, fintech and financial inclusion. He owns Prime Luxury Address Limited, an exclusive real estate development and investment company. Vintage Hubb―which he co-founded and of which he is its CEO―is the owner and developer of Marina Admiralty Towers, otherwise known as Hard Rock Hotel, Lagos.

Dr Adejoh, an alumnus of Benue State University and University of Lagos where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Diploma in Computer Science respectively, is a certified Master Project Manager from the ‎American Academy of Project Management, New York, and he’s a fellow of the American Academy of Project Management (FAAPM) and member of the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce.

His footprint in the corporate world started as an intern with the Leadway Assurance Plc from 1997 to 1999. At British Council’s Department for International Development (DFID), he was a consultant on its Community-Based development program for Benue CBOs in 2002.

From 2005, he was at Socketworks Limited, Lagos―an ICT company supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC)―where for 18 months, he was Project Manager for the national project of digitalizing federal higher institutions across the country and the development of the National Examination Council (NECO) platform.

He joined First City Monument Bank Plc (FCMB) in 2008 and worked as Relationship Manager before he embarked on his entrepreneurial odyssey in 2009.

His first enterprise, Camey & Rock Platform Group, was founded in 2009 with a start-up capital of N10 million.  “The Platform”―as the company is popularly known―has experienced tremendous growth in banking, non-bank financial services, real estate, hospitality and investment management.

The company in 2019 acquired a majority stake in Resort Savings & Loans Plc, a quoted company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) and one of the largest mortgage banks in Nigeria, valued at over N10 billion.

In 2014, Adejoh established Prime Luxury, a high-end real estate development company with projects in Abuja and Lagos and portfolio of assets valued in excess of $200 million.

Capitis Financial Services group, another company in the Group, established in June 2019, is one of the fastest growing diversified micro-credit union and microfinance institutions in Nigeria with a balance sheet of over N1 billion.

Plush Hotels, which he founded in 2021, is a luxury boutique hospitality brand in the leafy neigbourhood of Wuse, Abuja.

Mr. Adejoh’s brand of entrepreneurship is built on the philosophy of continuous maximisation of opportunities that create valuable businesses for the advancement and development of Nigeria, and the rest of the continent.

He is a proud ambassador of the Idoma people of Nigeria.
