Sadio Mane buys French fourth-division club, Bourges Foot 18

Sadio Mane, the prominent Senegalese footballer who currently plays for Al Nassr, has made an exciting purchase by acquiring the French fourth-division club Bourges Foot 18. The news of this acquisition was announced on social media, following Mane’s earlier financial contribution to the club to support their recruitment efforts.

This move has received approval from the city’s mayor, Yann Galut. Sadio Mane, in a video message following the completion of the deal, expressed his commitment to nurturing and organizing the club in collaboration with the city. He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in achieving their goals, also hinting at a future visit to Bourges.

Situated approximately 250 kilometers from Paris in central France, Bourges Foot 18 has a history of playing up to the French second tier. Currently, they are positioned second from the bottom in Group B of the Championnat National, a league featuring a mix of amateur teams and professional clubs fielding their reserves, including Toulouse and Angers. The club itself was formed only two years ago as a result of a merger between two regional clubs.
