Nottingham Forest have officially announced the loan signing of Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares from Arsenal.

Forest has also disclosed that Tavares’ loan deal includes potential future options.

The 23-year-old arrives at Forest following a successful loan stint with Marseille in France during the previous season, where the dynamic full-back impressively netted six goals in 31 appearances in Ligue 1.

Throughout the previous campaign, he featured in 39 matches across all competitions for Marseille, notably playing in all six of their UEFA Champions League group stage encounters.

Tavares initially began his football journey with spells at Casa Pia and Sporting CP as a youth before making a pivotal move to Benfica in 2015. He spent six fruitful years with Benfica before making a transition to Arsenal in 2021.

He made 28 appearances, marking a significant milestone by scoring his first goal for the club during a 3-1 Premier League victory over Manchester United in April 2022.

Tavares stated that he is genuinely thrilled to be part of Nottingham Forest. He acknowledged Forest’s rich history, which includes winning two European Cups, and expressed his happiness at becoming a part of this esteemed club.

Furthermore, Tavares conveyed his delight at continuing to compete in the Premier League, which he regards as the finest league globally. He expressed gratitude to Nottingham Forest for offering him this remarkable opportunity.
