Victor Boniface makes Bundesliga Team of the Week
Victor Boniface, a recent addition to the Super Eagles squad, earned recognition in the Bundesliga Team of the Week due to his outstanding display for Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend. The prestigious Team of the Week accolade was bestowed by the football statistics website, whoscored.com.
Among the noteworthy talents joining him on the list were the Bayern Munich duo, Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich.
In Leverkusen’s commanding 5-1 victory against Damstadt, Boniface showcased his scoring prowess by netting a brace and contributing an assist. He opened the scoring in the 21st minute and added another goal in the 61st minute, extending Leverkusen’s lead to 3-1.
He then provided the assist for Leverkusen’s fourth goal on 67 minutes.
He has now scored four goals in just three league games for Leverkusen.
His superb performance for the German outfit earned him a first call-up to the Super Eagles for their 2023 AFCON qualifier against São Tomé and Principe.
