The Spanish women’s national team is currently grappling with a series of controversies, following a sequence of events that have raised concerns. These incidents have surfaced in the wake of Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales facing significant backlash for an incident involving a kiss on the lips with Jenni Hermoso during a presentation.

Adding to the unfolding narrative, recent footage has come to light featuring Jorge Vilda, the head coach of the Spanish team, appearing to engage in inappropriate physical contact with a female staff member during the Women’s World Cup final between Spain and England.

In the aftermath of Olga Carmona’s triumphant goal in the World Cup final, the Spanish staff celebrated the achievement. However, during this celebratory moment, Vilda’s arm seemed to transition from his colleague’s shoulder to her chest for a duration longer than a brief instance, before subsequently retracting.

Jorge Vilda has been a figure of controversy in Spanish football. Back in 2022, a significant development occurred when 15 players in the squad collectively sent an email of resignation from the national team. This move was backed by prominent players such as Alexia Putellas, Jenni Hermoso, and Irene Paredes.

Since then, doubts have arisen about Vilda’s coaching methods. According to reports by The Athletic, until as recently as four years ago, a directive from higher authorities was in place, dictating that players were not allowed to lock their hotel room doors at night while on international duty until the manager had personally inspected the rooms.
