President Bola Tinubu is preparing to present a fresh group of ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening today.

As reported by the Punch, a credible source revealed that the names will be announced during the plenary, either tonight or early tomorrow morning.

The screening process for the 28 nominees is anticipated to be concluded today, which will pave the way for the screening of the next batch. Earlier, 14 out of the 28 ministerial nominees had already undergone screening.

The new set of nominees is expected to be unveiled by Wednesday, aiming to complete their screening by Monday.

On Tuesday, nine nominees were screened, including Senator David Umahi, Olawale Edun, Nasir el-Rufai, Ahmed Dangiwa, Uche Nnaji, Stella Okotete, Adebayo Adelabu, Ekperikpe Ekpo, and Hannatu Musawa.

During their screening, Olawale Edun, a finance expert, shared his insights on the nation’s exchange rate and proposed using biometrics for palliative sharing. Adebayo Adelabu criticized the lack of supervision of the Central Bank of Nigeria by the economic management ministries.

Nasir el-Rufai expressed the President’s vision of achieving uninterrupted power supply within seven years, stating his concern about Nigeria’s inability to provide reliable electricity despite neighboring countries having access to it.
