Iran resumed flights at its airports on Thursday, state media reported, following a brief suspension after its missile strike on Israel.
The Islamic Republic fired 200 missiles at Israel on Tuesday evening, marking its second-ever direct attack on the nation, following a missile and drone strike in April.
For security reasons, all domestic and international flights were grounded until 5:00 a.m. (0130 GMT) on Thursday.
Jafar Yazarloo, a spokesman for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation, confirmed the flights had resumed after restrictions were lifted.
“After ensuring favourable and safe flight conditions and ending of the restrictions, airlines are allowed to carry out flight operations,” he said, quoted by the official IRNA news agency.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has recommended that European airlines steer clear of Iranian airspace until October 31, pending further assessment of the situation.
Similar advisories were issued over the weekend for Israel and Lebanon.
