Mr. Emmanuel Tyohemba, elder brother of Victor Tyohemba, who tragically died in a motor accident along with his wife and two children, has recounted how he learned of the devastating incident.

The family had been traveling back to Abuja after celebrating Christmas and New Year in Makurdi.

Speaking to our correspondent via telephone on Tuesday, Tyohemba explained that the accident occurred on Saturday along the Akwanga-Abuja Road.

The victims included Victor Tyohemba, a 37-year-old accountant, his wife, Mrs. Erdoo Tyohemba, and their daughters, Miss Agnes Ngohide Angbiandoo and Miss Immaculate Sesughter Angbiandoo.

“The family left Makurdi in a commercial vehicle on Saturday, while I traveled to my station in Zaria the next day,” Tyohemba shared. “We lost contact with them on Saturday and couldn’t reach either my brother or his wife despite repeated attempts. On Sunday, I began making inquiries and learned that a bus traveling to Abuja on Saturday had been involved in an accident.”

Tyohemba said he eventually contacted the transport company’s manager, who confirmed the accident. He traveled to the scene, retrieved the bodies of his brother and his family, and brought them back to their hometown in Igbor.

The remains of Victor and his family were laid to rest on Monday in their family home in Igbor.
