‘She did not wait to dance at my funeral’ — Deborah Okwori’s mother weeps
“Since you did not wait to dance at my burial, I’ll dance for you instead.”
Those were the heart-rending words of the mother of Deborah Eneyi Ohekuru Okwori, the interior designer popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, as her remains arrived in Ugaga Ohuhu, Oju Local Government Area of Benue State, on Wednesday.
Deborah was brutally murdered in Lagos by her former lover, Lintex Ogale, two years after ending their relationship.
He reportedly attacked and hacked her to death in her apartment before fleeing.
Her return home drew tears from relatives, friends, and villagers who received her casket in grief-stricken silence.
But it was her mother’s anguished tribute that pierced through the mournful atmosphere, leaving many sobbing uncontrollably.
