Senator Abba Moro has launched a strong criticism against Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, alleging that the current administration has shown unprecedented hatred for the Idoma people.

Moro made the remarks on Saturday during a defection rally in Owukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.

He told supporters that his team would embark on a house-to-house campaign to “tell the people the truth” about the governor’s leadership.

“We will go from house to house and tell our people the truth, that the person in Makurdi is not a priest,” the senator said. “Of all the governors Benue has had, none has shown hostility toward the Idoma people like Governor Alia.”

He dismissed claims that the governor is performing well, insisting that there is little evidence of development in Zone C.

“They say he is working. Yes, maybe he is working in Makurdi and Vandeikya, jhis village, but in Okpokwu, Ogbadibo and other parts of Zone C, I have not seen anything he has done,” Moro stated.

Moro also claimed that many residents believe Governor Alia is no longer the same person they voted for three years ago.

“Someone told me the Rev. Father we voted for three years ago is not the same person now in Makurdi,” he said.
