Gospel Music Minister, Godwin Oloche Odeh Honours Late Evang. Peter Otulu
Founder of Idoma United Singers (IUS) Evangelist Godwin Oloche Odeh, on Sunday, paid tribute to late Idoma gospel music legend, Evangelist Peter Owoicho Otulu, with a posthumous award in his honour.
The recognition formed part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of Oloche’s music ministry.
Oloche, a mentee of the late Otulu, described him as a mentor, teache, and spiritual guide whose impact continues to shape his journey in gospel music.
“Papa Otulu was more than a teacher to me, he was a father in the faith and a pillar in my musical journey. His guidance, discipline and passion for gospel music laid the foundation for who I am today. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in all of us he mentored,” Oloche said.
Receiving the award on behalf of the family, Prophetess Faith Ojo Otulu and Daniel Otulu expressed gratitude to Idoma United Singers, led by Oloche, for remembering their late father and honouring his legacy.
She said, “On behalf of our family, we are deeply grateful for this honour. It means a lot to us that our father’s legacy is still remembered and celebrated years after his passing.
“Our father lived for the gospel and dedicated his life to raising others in ministry. Seeing his impact still being acknowledged today is a great comfort to us.
“This honour is not just for our family, but for everyone whose life our father touched through gospel music.
“We sincerely thank Godwin Oloche Odeh and the Idoma United Singers for keeping our father’s memory alive through this recognition.”
The award was presented on behalf of Idoma United Singers by the CEO of Idoma TV, Ameh Godwin.
