A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue State and aspirant for the Ohimini State Constituency seat in the Benue State House of Assembly, Comr. Godwin Alechenu Odeh, has formally declared his intention to contest in the 2027 general elections, anchoring his ambition on equity, zoning, and grassroots development.

Odeh, in his declaration, argued that political fairness and existing zoning arrangements favour Zone B, particularly Ehatokpe, to produce the next representative for Ohimini State Constituency.

According to him, Ehatokpe has consistently contributed to the political growth and stability of Ohimini Local Government Area and deserves the opportunity to occupy the seat in line with the principles of justice and inclusiveness.

The aspirant said his decision to join the race was driven by the desire to provide what he described as “robust, qualitative and result-oriented representation” for the people of Ohimini.

He pledged to champion pro-people legislation, attract developmental projects, and ensure equitable distribution of government infrastructure across communities in the constituency.

Odeh also promised to focus on youth empowerment through skills acquisition programmes, entrepreneurship support, and agricultural incentives aimed at boosting the local economy.

On education, he said he would advocate improved learning conditions in public schools, while also introducing scholarship initiatives and academic competitions to encourage excellence among students.

The ADC chieftain further assured constituents that he would prioritize healthcare development by lobbying for the upgrade and proper staffing of primary healthcare centres across Ohimini.

He added that his proposed representation would be anchored on transparency and accountability through regular town hall meetings and constant engagement with constituents.

Odeh called on political stakeholders, party leaders, youths, women, and residents of Ohimini to support what he described as a collective movement for equity, progress, and effective representation ahead of the 2027 elections.
