Kano government approves ₦20,000 Eid bonus for civil servants
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a special ₦20,000 Eid-el-Kabir goodwill package for civil servants across the state and the 44 local government areas.
The gesture, which follows the successful payment of May 2026 salaries, is aimed at workers on Grade Levels 01 to 14 in both state ministries and local government councils.
According to a statement by Musa Tanko Muhammad, Press Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the initiative was described as a compassionate, worker-friendly intervention.
The statement noted that the approval reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare and dignity of civil servants, who are considered the backbone of public service in Kano State.
“The decision was informed by the prevailing economic realities and the financial demands associated with festive periods. This support would enable workers to celebrate Eid with joy and comfort alongside their families,” the statement added.
Governor Yusuf also reiterated that the gesture aligns with his administration’s inclusive governance philosophy and its drive to ensure no segment of the workforce is left behind in people-oriented policies.
He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing workers’ welfare, boosting productivity, and maintaining a motivated public service capable of delivering quality service to residents of the state.
The governor also extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to civil servants and residents, praying for peace, unity, prosperity, and continued blessings for Kano State and Nigeria at large.
