2027: APC, LP, SDP, six others collect INEC candidate nomination access dodes
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that nine political parties have so far collected access codes required to upload the particulars of their candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
INEC National Commissioner in charge of Voter Education and Publicity, Malam Haruna, made the disclosure on Tuesday in Abuja.
“As of the close of work on Monday, nine political parties have collected the access codes for the national elections,” Haruna said.
He identified the parties as the Accord Party, Action Alliance (AA), African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), National Democratic Party (NDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Haruna explained that political parties are required to visit the commission to collect the access codes, noting that INEC will not deliver them to individual party secretariats.
He added that any individual seeking to collect the codes on behalf of a political party must present a letter of authorization from the party’s leadership.
The INEC commissioner also said the electoral body had already issued guidelines for the nomination of candidates and urged all political parties to comply strictly with the prescribed procedures ahead of the 2027 polls.
