Wukari Traditional Council Confers ‘Akii’ Title on AVM Monday Morgan
The Wukari Traditional Council has conferred the revered traditional title of “Akii” on the leader of the Benue Rebirth Movement, Air Vice Marshal Monday R. Morgan (Rtd), in recognition of his contributions to public service and national development.
The honour was conveyed in a letter dated April 2, 2026, and issued by the council’s secretariat in Wukari, Taraba State, inviting the retired senior military officer to formally accept the title.
According to the council, the conferment is in recognition of Morgan’s enduring public service, unwavering commitment, and contributions to national discourse.
The council commended his “sterling contributions and unflinching commitment,” noting that he has consistently championed causes that promote equity, justice, and national cohesion.
It also acknowledged Morgan’s role in advocating for power shift and inclusive governance in Benue State, describing him as one of the prominent voices pushing for political balance and fairness.
By the conferment, the council said Morgan has been entrusted with the symbolic responsibility of serving as the “shield of the Kwararafa people,” reflecting the confidence reposed in him to protect communal interests and strengthen ties between the Kwararafa people and government institutions.
The letter was signed by the Secretary of the Wukari Traditional Council, Barr. Bachotsatu Agbo, who conveyed the blessings of the Aku Uka of Wukari and requested the retired Air Vice Marshal to formally communicate his acceptance of the traditional title.
