Ortom orders for completion of Taraku-Naka-Agagbe road – Works Commissioner

Honourable Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Benue State, Engr. Uungwa Jude Shachia, MNSE, FNIWE, FNICE has assured the good people of Gwer East and West that the 61km Taraku-Naka-Agagbe road would be completed before the end of the current administration in the state following Governor Samuel Ortom’s directive.
Engr. Uungwa gave this assurance on Friday, 17th June, 2022 while addressing pressmen at the Naka-Agagbe section of the road shortly after an on-the-spot-Assessment tour of the ongoing work by the company handling the project, PW Construction Company.
“I am here to inspect the road and make sure the construction is done according to Specification. His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has recently released a good sum of money to the contractor handling the road and has mandated that the work must be completed before the end of his tenure. I am satisfied with the ongoing work and if the company continues with this tempo, the mandate given by the governor will be met”, Engr Uungwa said.
The project manager, Karim Oshoma in his speech, confirmed the release of a substantial fund by the state government under the leadership of Gov Samuel Ortom for continuity of the work after it was put on hold due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, assuring the public that the work would be completed before the end of this year.
Speaking separately but in the same vein, Hon Igbalumun James, Mrs Hembadoon Ukwotyough, Jimmy Yor, John Terhemba who are residents of the benefiting communities, couldn’t hide their joy as they expressed their gratitude and thanked Gov Samuel Ortom for the laudable project, which they believe, would enhance their business and farming activities, assuring the governor of total support of their people.
