AFCON: Three governors host Idoma-born Moses Simon

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon received a warm welcome from the governors of Benue, Kaduna, and Plateau states on Tuesday and Wednesday following his notable contribution to the Super Eagles’ silver-winning performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Born to Benue parents, the 30-year-old was graciously hosted by Governor Hyacinth Alia, who expressed gratitude for Simon’s role in showcasing the state’s positive image during the tournament.

Having roots in Kaduna, Simon was also honored at the Government House by Governor Uba Sani, who commended the footballer for his efforts in empowering youth through his Simoiben Academy.

Similarly, the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, welcomed Simon and expressed pride in the Super Eagles’ achievements. He also thanked Simon for his dedication to Nigeria and his status as an adopted son of Plateau State.

Simon’s football journey began at the Golden Boot Academy in Jos, further cementing his connection to Plateau State.
