APC has abandoned Abba Yaro – Benue PDP

Published

Reports in the media indicate that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved its Executive Committee organs across the country, including in Benue State.

The Benue State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bids the outgone Exco of the opposition party in the state farewell and wishes its members well in their subsequent endeavours.

However, PDP observes with deep concern that Benue APC had lost all forms of organisational cohesion and direction well before the dissolution.

Only yesterday, its then State Chairman, Comrade Abba Yaro, suffered tragedy at his Makurdi residence when a guest got electrocuted to death while carrying out a chore, following which an irate mob had beset the residence destroying properties there and intent on burning it down.

It took the swift intervention of Governor Samuel Ortom who rushed to the scene in person to quell the situation saving Abba Yaro, his family and the house.

But to this moment, not a single message of condemnation of the incident or sympathy has come from APC to the man who served that party in the capacity of Benue State Chairman from its founding to date.

It is the desire and expectation of PDP that APC will put its acts together and reinvent the party’s fortunes to fulfill its responsibilities as an opposition block in the best interests of democracy.
