Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected logistics supplier to Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during a coordinated operation in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources said the suspect was arrested on June 7 during a joint operation carried out by troops of the 19 Battalion and 25 Brigade Garrison, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

The suspect was identified as Malam Bako Ibrahim. He was picked up along the Sierra 4 axis in Damboa following intelligence reports that linked him to terrorist logistics support activities in the area.

Military sources said preliminary interrogation showed that the suspect supplied food items, materials, and other operational support to terrorist groups operating within Damboa LGA.

Troops recovered several items from him during the operation. These included 86 mosquito nets, a bicycle, a transistor radio, a mobile phone, two calculators, a tyre pump, 14 roofing sheet laths, and 24 wall sheet laths.

They also recovered six poly bags, 37 nylon bags, and ₦9,200 in cash. Security officials believe the materials were meant for delivery to insurgents in their hideouts.

The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing further investigation at the Headquarters of the 25 Brigade. Authorities said the investigation will determine the full extent of his involvement and identify possible collaborators within the logistics network.

Military sources explained that logistics suppliers play a key role in sustaining insurgent operations. They provide essential materials, communication tools, and other supplies that help terrorists survive in remote locations.

They added that disrupting such supply chains remains a central focus of ongoing counterterrorism operations in the North-East.

Operation Hadin Kai has continued sustained intelligence-led and offensive operations across Borno State and other parts of the region. The aim is to dismantle terrorist cells, block supply routes, and restrict the movement of insurgents.
