BREAKING: Fire breaks out at Lagos Airport Terminal

A fire incident on Sunday affected Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, prompting an emergency response from airport authorities.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed the development in a statement posted on its official X handle, assuring the public that firefighters were immediately deployed to contain the blaze.

According to FAAN, its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is actively responding to the incident.

“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform the public that a fire incident has occurred at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

“The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation,” the statement read.

The authority said no casualties or loss of life had been recorded as of the time of filing this report.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, while efforts to fully contain the incident were ongoing.
