I don’t want to lose again — Cubana Chief Priest reveals why he left Obi
Nigerian entrepreneur and socialite, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has explained why he shifted his political support from the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to reports Cubana Chief Priest and several other celebrities were prominent supporters of Peter Obi during the 2023 general elections.
However, ahead of the next election cycle, he announced his defection from Obi’s camp and declared support for President Tinubu.
He is now reportedly serving as a coordinator of the City Boys Movement, a grassroots mobilisation group launched by Seyi Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a recent interview with Nigerian streamer Peller, Cubana Chief Priest said his decision was driven by a desire to avoid another electoral defeat.
He claimed that Peter Obi is unlikely to win the next presidential election, adding that the former Anambra governor is not ready.
“I left Obi because I don’t want to lose again. Peter will still not win because he is not ready,” he said.
