Rasmus Hojlund made the decision to decline a more lucrative contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in favor of joining Manchester United during the recent summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old Danish striker departed Atalanta for Manchester United last month, completing the move for a transfer fee of €70 million.

During negotiations with Manchester United, Hojlund engaged in a video call with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, where he was presented with PSG’s outlined plans. Despite being impressed by the proposal, Hojlund remained steadfast in his decision.

According to reports from The Athletic, PSG extended a superior contract offer to Hojlund and his representatives, but even this couldn’t sway the determined center-forward.

Hojlund signed a contract with Manchester United that extends to 2028.
