Two individuals lost their lives in a collision at the Kara section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Friday.

The accident, which transpired around 8:32 am, also left 10 people injured.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said 14 people were involved in the accident, “in which two died instantly, leaving 10 people injured and 2 people unhurt.”

FRSC spokesperson Florence Okpe, based in Ogun, identified the vehicles involved as a white Mazda bus with registration number XV945EPE and an unregistered Howo Sino Truck.

Okpe attributed the crash to route violation and dangerous driving.

In the aftermath of the collision, the injured victims were promptly transported to Famobis Hospital, while the deceased were taken to a mortuary in Idera.

Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun State, issued a stern advisory to drivers, urging them to refrain from driving against traffic. He emphasized the importance of exercising caution to safeguard not only their lives but also the lives of fellow road users.
