Worried over the security challenges in Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro, on Saturday, met with the nine local government Chairmen from the Zone.

The meeting was aimed at finding a lasting panacea to the security hiccups in some parts of the zone and the need to bring dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots. The meeting came barely three days after the brutal killing of a commercial motorcyclist and his passenger, a policeman, by gunmen in Ado Local Government Area.

Addressing the Chairmen, Senator Moro urged them to always be on top of the situation in their localities at all times. According to the Comrade-Senator, the Chairmen are in the position to assess the situation of the people and promptly respond to their needs.

In his words, “Given the security situation in the country, as the Chief Security Officer of your various local government areas, you should be on top of the situation at all times. And where things are getting out of hand, reach out to the Governor and the rest of us in elective positions, so that together we can secure the lives and property of our people.”

The team, which was led by Rt. Hon. George Alli of Otukpo Local Government, described the meeting as timely. He thanked Senator Moro for the fatherly roles he’s playing at all times. He assured the Distinguished Senator of their support and commitment so they can build a peaceful and progressives Benue South.

In attendance at the meeting were: Rt. George Alli (Otukpo), Hon. James Oche (Ado), Hon. (Mrs.) Amina Audu (Okpokwu), Hon. Clement Onaa (Oju), Hon. Faith Agbo (Ohimini), Hon. Agnes Uleko Erebe (Obi) and others.
