1. The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial district, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro who is seeking re-election as the PDP Senatorial candidate while reeling out his achievements also dismissed media reports on the crises in the PDP at the national level credited to him.

He said he never made any comments, either directly or indirectly during the inauguration of his campaign council as credited to him.

2. Governor Samuel Ortom has assured the people of Benue South senatorial district that the continuity of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP administration in the state will further work for the improved conditions of the state.

The Governor spoke Monday, December 5th, 2022 at the flag-off of the PDP Senatorial campaigns in Benue South just as Senator Abba Moro dismissed comments credited to him on the PDP crises at the national level.

3. Unknown gunmen have abducted the Benue State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Ekpe Ogbu, alongside Honourable Agbo Ode, one of his in-laws and the driver on Sunday night, December 4, at about 8.45pm.

According to reports, they were kidnapped along David Marks Farm, after Akpa Otobi while on their way from Otukpo to Utonkon in Ado Local Government Area of Benue state.

4. The abductors of Benue State Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, Ekpe Ogbu, have opened contact with his family and demanded N5 million ransom.

A family source told our correspondent that the abductors were able to contact the family of the Commissioner through the phone of his driver.

5. The Benue state government has condemned the speech made by the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Austin Agada, against Governor Samuel Ortom over his close relationship with his Rivers state counterpart, Governor Nyesom Wike.

Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Terver Akase, who reacted to Agada’s ‘smack of gangsterism’ against his principal in a press statement, also explained the relationship between the two governors.

6. The Benue Youths Forum, BYF, has said personnel of the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards, BSCVGs, are not immune to the law and are operating under strict supervision of the conventional security agencies saying they would be sanctioned appropriately if found wanting.
The forum urged anyone with any unsavory experience with any member of the guards to go through legal channels to express his or her grievances, rather than resorting “to painting all the operatives with one brush.”
