‘Minority plus Minority equals Mumuriti’: Ottah Agbo warns Benue South against supporting PDP, ADC, others
The All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Benue South, Francis Ottah Agbo, has warned voters in the district against supporting opposition parties, arguing that doing so could weaken their political influence.
Agbo made the remarks during a free medical outreach in Apa-Agatu, where he addressed residents on the political choices facing Benue South, popularly known as Zone C, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Describing the district as a minority area, the APC candidate urged the people not to align with minority political parties, insisting that such a combination would further diminish their political strength.
“Zone C people, we are minority! I want to make a profound statement for you. Zone C, we are a minority! So, you are a minority already. You want to join minority political party?” he asked.
When members of the audience responded negatively, Agbo said, “Minority plus minority is equal to mumuriti!”
He repeated the expression, drawing cheers and laughter from the crowd.
Explaining his position, the candidate said the people of Apa-Agatu could produce a senator at the appropriate time but insisted that the time was not yet right.
“At the appropriate time, Apa Agatu can produce senator, but not now,” he said.
Agbo also rejected suggestions that Apa-Agatu was being politically marginalised, declaring, “Nobody is cheating Apa.”
He argued that securing a Senate seat would be difficult for a candidate from a minority political party, repeatedly asking the audience what would result from combining two minorities.
“Because you cannot have a senator in a minority party. Because minority plus minority is equal to what? Mumuriti!” he said.
