Tinubu doesn’t fully trust me as an Igbo man — Cubana Chief Priest
Nigerian entrepreneur and socialite, Cubana Chief Priest, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not fully trust him because he is an Igbo man.
According to the nightlife promoter, the President still views him with suspicion because of his previous support for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election.
Recall that Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, had earlier picked up the All Progressives Congress APC House of Representatives nomination form to contest for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.
However, he failed to secure the APC ticket and later claimed that he never actually contested for the position.
According to reports, the socialite, who currently serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, later declared support for Tinubu, stating that he did not want to “lose for a second time” with Peter Obi.
He also expressed confidence that Obi stands no chance of defeating Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Following his defeat in the APC primary, many social media users mocked him, saying he underestimated the realities of Nigerian politics.
After the outcome, Seyi Tinubu shared a message of encouragement with him on Instagram, urging him not to be discouraged because setbacks could lead to greater success in the future.
Speaking during a chat with streamer Peller on Tuesday evening, Cubana Chief Priest said, “Let me tell you, as I am now, Tinubu doesn’t really trust me as an Igbo man. He looks at me with one eye. He is still like, ‘this one that has worked for Peter Obi before.”
He further explained that although he worked for Peter Obi during the 2023 elections, he later withdrew his support because he believes Obi cannot defeat Tinubu.
