Troops arrest suspected carjacker, recover stolen vehicle in Abuja

Troops of the 176 Guards Battalion, operating under Operation MESA, have arrested a suspected carjacker and recovered a stolen vehicle in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A military source said the suspect was intercepted at about 11:53 a.m. on June 14 at the Gwagwalada checkpoint in Gwagwalada Area Council while driving the stolen vehicle.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime. He said he had a disagreement with his employers and decided to flee with their vehicle before relocating to Abuja.

The source added that troops have taken the suspect and the recovered vehicle into custody for further investigation and necessary action.
