CAF sets dates for Super Eagles last AFCON 2025 qualifying matches

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set Monday, November 18, for Nigeria’s final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

This Matchday 6 fixture will close out the race for Group D slots in the 35th AFCON finals, scheduled to take place in Morocco in December 2025 and January 2026.

CAF has appointed Moroccan officials to oversee the game, with Samir Guezzaz as the referee.

He will be supported by assistant referees Zakaria Brinsi and Abdessamad Abertoune, with Kech Chaf Mustapha as the fourth official.

Ghana’s Prosper Harrison Addo will serve as the match commissioner, while Somalian Ali Mohamed Ahmed will act as the referee assessor. The match is set to kick off at 5 p.m. Nigeria time.

For Nigeria’s Matchday 5 encounter against Benin Republic at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny on Thursday, November 14, CAF has assigned a Senegalese officiating team led by referee Issa Sy.

Djibril Camara, Nouha Bangoura, and El Hadji Amadou Sy will serve as assistants and fourth official, respectively.

Ivorian Rene Williams Sere will be the commissioner, with Angolan Inacio Manuel Candido as the referee assessor. This match is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Nigeria time (7 p.m. CIV time).
