Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), working alongside the Benue State Civil Protection Guards, have successfully rescued a kidnapped victim following a rapid response to an abduction in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to Zagazola Makama, the rescue mission was launched around 4:00 a.m. on July 8 after soldiers stationed at Tor-Donga received credible intelligence about a kidnapping incident in the Igyudu community.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the combined security team swiftly moved to the location, prompting the kidnappers to abandon their victim and flee into the nearby bush as they spotted the approaching troops.

The victim was safely rescued and taken to a medical facility for treatment and proper assessment.

Military sources disclosed that security personnel have begun a manhunt to apprehend the fleeing suspects and prevent further criminal activities in the area.

The latest rescue forms part of Operation WHIRL STROKE’s sustained campaign against kidnapping and other violent crimes across Benue State and neighbouring communities.
