Peter Obi unhappy over OK Movement leadership dispute — Kwankwaso’s spokesman

A spokesman for Rabi’u Kwankwaso, Ladipo Johnson, has said the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, is unhappy over the leadership dispute currently affecting the OK Movement.

Johnson made the disclosure during an interview on Arise Television, where he admitted that the Movement was facing internal disagreements.

He, however, said the crisis was only a temporary distraction and not serious enough to derail the Movement’s political objectives ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to him, the disagreement arose from differences between some members and the leadership of the Movement, stressing that the situation should not be allowed to create division among supporters of the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso alliance.

He warned that any action capable of causing disunity could undermine efforts to build a strong political platform ahead of the 2027 polls.

Johnson also disclosed that Peter Obi had been informed about the development and was not pleased with the ongoing dispute.

“Yes, we have, may I call it a distraction at the moment. It is not such, in my own humble opinion, that would lead you to take unilateral actions that could possibly scuttle or bring bad blood within the support base of the person you purportedly want to become the president of the country.

“I saw the presidential candidate last night along with the DG. He’s not happy about the whole situation,” Johnson said.

He maintained that supporters should remain focused on strengthening the Movement’s structure across the country rather than allowing internal disagreements to distract them from their political goals.
